- The Hampshire Junior Squash League will consist of as many divisions as are necessary to satisfy the demand. In
2006/07 there will be five. Matches will, in general, be played on a triangular basis, three teams playing each
other where possible.Each fixture will start at 1.30pm.
- The league fee of £15 per team must be sent to the Junior League Organiser by 16 June 2006.
- The leagues will be open to boys and girls who are eligible to play for Hampshire.
- Each team shall have four players. Players must be under the age of 19 on the day the match is played. Players’
date of birth must be sent to the Junior League Organiser before the first match of the season.
- A player may only represent one club in any one season, unless an application has been made to the junior organiser
of a transfer to be registered. If it is found that a club plays a junior who has already represented another club
during the season the match (i.e. all 4 strings) will be forfeit.
- All players should be entered and ranked on the League Management System (LMS) prior to the first match of the
season (see 13 - 22 below).
- Each match played will be best of five games, normal scoring with one point awarded for every game won. Four bonus
points will be awarded to the winning team. In the event of a two all draw - two bonus points will be awarded to
each team.
- The club hosting the fixture must have an adult in attendance at courtside for the duration of all matches. Visiting
teams should have an adult in attendance, or a nominated team member who shall be responsible for team conduct during
the fixture. The nominated player should inform the host organiser on arrival.
- Marking matches:
Team A plays Team B, Team C mark all matches. Team A plays
Team C, Team B mark all matches. Team B plays Team C, Team A mark all matches.
- Wearing of goggles is mandatory for all Hampshire Junior League matches.
- The home team is responsible for confirming fixtures and giving directions.
- Fixtures can only be re-arranged with the consent of all three team managers involved in the fixture and must
be ratified by the Junior League Organiser. It must be re-arranged for the same half of season as originally
scheduled and at least two weeks notice (i.e. two weeks before the original fixture date) must be given to all
the relevant team managers and the Junior League Organiser. If circumstances do not permit this then the League
Organiser must be informed of the reasons and agree to the re-arrangement.
- Prior to their first match of the season, each Club shall input a complete list of ranked junior players onto
the online league management system. This “Club Ladder” will form the basis for monitoring that players are competing
in their correct ranked order.
- The first string in the second team shall never be ranked above No 5, the first string in the third team shall
never be ranked above No 9, and so on for each Club Junior team.
- The team, as written on the match result card, must show individual Club Junior ranking numbers alongside each
name. A higher ranked player must not play below a lower ranked player; except under conditions of Rule 19.
- After the initial ranking list has been submitted, re-nomination lists may be input onto the league management
system at monthly intervals no later than midnight on the first Tuesday in each month and taking effect for all
matches after that Tuesday. The final date for nominations shall be the first Tuesday in March. If there has been
no change in Club Junior rankings since the previous list, there is no requirement to submit further monthly lists
until such a change has taken place.
- The ranking list shall include all reserves and any player who is likely to be asked to play for their Club Junior
team. Any player who is not included on a current ranking list and who subsequently plays in a Club Junior team will
automatically concede the string except under conditions of Rule 18. New players joining a Club should be ranked
against existing players before being added to the next re-nomination list.
- The bottom junior team in any Club may play two un-nominated players at any time during the season, but these
players must then be added to the next re-nomination list. The un-nominated members should be placed in a string
position commensurate with their playing standard.
- To accommodate changes in playing form between monthly re-nominations, the playing order within a team may be
changed providing it conforms to the following;
19.1 The change must be between consecutive strings. 19.2 Only one change per team per match is permitted.
19.3 The change cannot be applied between the fourth string of one team and the first string of the team below.
- The Junior Ranking List must be prominently displayed at Clubs so that club and visiting players are fully aware
of a player’s ranking.
- Results of all fixtures must be entered on the League management system by the home team within 48 hours
of the match. Points will not be awarded to teams failing to submit results onto the system. In addition, all
copies of the match cards should still be sent to the Junior League Organiser
within seven days of the matches having been played.
- If access to LMS is problem for anyone they should inform the Junior League Organiser to arrange an alternative
method for entering their results.
