Hampshire League News Items!     LAST UPDATE

New Leagues for 2011/2012 The 2011-12 fixtures have been transferred to the LMS database and can now be viewed from the usual links above. Whilst there has been a basic check done on them, with over a thousand fixtures it has not been possible to examine each one in detail. Please let me know asap if you spot any errors. Please do not treat the dates as fixed until 26/8/11 as they are still subject to the odd change without consultation until then. Start of the season is the 15th September.

Fixture changes and all queries concerning league matters should be addressed to myself at squashleague@ntlworld.com.

Mark Millard

NEW SEASON REMINDERS and NEW RULES
2010-2011

RANKINGS
  1. Make sure you enter rankings the day before your clubs 1st game in the appropriate league. Each ranking list shows this date.
  2. Rank all players in the same relative order in every league.
  3. Make sure you only have players ranked who will definitely be playing for you. I've noticed a few players are ranked at more than 1 club.
  4. Only the lowest team can use unranked players.
  5. Remember to display your current rankings at the club.
DATA
  1. It is very useful for me and for other teams if the correct team captain e-mail addresses are entered into the system. (It might mean less to do for yourselves)
  2. Please try and enter your results promptly.
Matches
  1. Remember to play in strict ranking order.
  2. Teams from the same club who play each other must all play in strict ranking order. All the lower team must be ranked below all the higher.
  3. Mens Premier league matches must now be played under the PAR-11 scoring system. I wish you all the best for the coming season

NEW SEASON REMINDERS and NEW RULES

RANKINGS
  1. Make sure you enter rankings the day before your clubs 1st game in the appropriate league. Each ranking list shows this date.
  2. Do not rely on what was there last season as for some reason some players have been deleted.
  3. Rank all players in the same relative order in every league.
  4. Make sure you only have players ranked who will definitely be playing for you. I've noticed a few players are ranked at more than 1 club.
  5. Only the lowest team can use unranked players.
  6. Remember to display your current rankings at the club.
DATA
  1. It is very useful for me and for other teams if the correct team captain e-mail addresses are entered into the system. (It might mean less to do for yourselves)
  2. Please try and enter your results promptly.
  3. There is the facility to enter players D.O.B onto the system. I would encourage the gradual population of this for all, but more importantly for players likely to be involved in age group competitions. O35, O40, O45, O50, O55 etc.
Matches
  1. Remember to play in strict ranking order.
  2. Teams from the same club who play each other must all play in strict ranking order. All the lower team must be ranked below all the higher.
  3. Mens Premier league matches must now be played under the PAR-11 scoring system.
  4. I have been contacted by a few clubs who are concerned about late arrivals. The rules do state that:- If a team has not at least three players present and ready to play at the scheduled start of the match, the team may be scratched. Thereafter match play must be continuous on both courts. A player who has not arrived at the match venue by the time all the other matches have finished will be automatically scratched. Please try and comply with this in all matches. I will have no choice but to uphold the use of this rule should either home or away team choose to apply it. (Particularly awkward if I'm present or playing in the match).
Fixtures
  1. I have to apologise for the lack of a full Easter break in the fixtures program this year. I have tried to move games away from the Bank holiday weekend already but the rest is up to you.
I wish you all the best for the coming season

16th September 2009

The new leagues are out. The 2009-10 fixtures have been transferred to the LMS database and can be viewed from the usual links above. Last years leagues and previous years league results can be viewed from the menu at the bottom of Hampshire Leagues page.
Whilst there has been a basic check done on this years leagues, with over 1150 fixtures it has not been possible to examine each one in detail. All clubs have 5 weeks to look at their fixtures and re-arrange if they need, prior to the start of the season on 7th September. It's better if these arrangements are made before the start of the season. Please be as flexible as possible in order to accomodate your opponents.
Fixture change and all queries concerning league matters should now be addressed to E-mail Mark at squashleague@ntlworld.comMark Millard (HSRA League Secretary)

Click Click hereclick here to preview the leagues for 2009-2010. The major change you will note is that because of a reduction in numbers of teams entered, there is now only one division 4 in the men's league. This has resulted in divisions 3, 4 and 5B having 11 teams which is above the optimum 10 teams per division, but the alternative would have been a number of divisions with only 8 teams.
Wherever possible I've tried to meet requests not to promote teams where clubs thought they would not be strong enough, subject to having divisions of 9 - 11 teams.
Regards
David Law (League Secretary)
