Hampshire beat Sussex 3 strings to 2 but lost to a strong Surrey 1-4. In the match against Sussex both Sarah Giles (5) and Roz Hursell (4) had tough matches but were defeated 0-3 and 2-3 respectively. After a difficult start Lynne Foster (3) cruised to a comfortable 3-1 win. Both Sharon Cullinane (2) and Flavia Roberts (1) dominated their matches and quickly secured 3-0 victories. The tie against Surrey was to be fiercely competitive. Sarah, Roz, Lynne and Sharon all fell quickly 0-3, Sharon playing the formidable Maggie North. Flavia fortunately found her form and in a hard running exchange prevailed 3-0. |
