This match was played at Lewis in Sussex on Sunday 5th November 2006. Hampshire were in Region 4 Group C, which had Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.

I'd like to thank those parents, who ensured that their players arrived in good time and for enthusiastically supporting both the team and the individual players throughout the long day. As it turned out, this was vital because, as you can see from the results above, Hampshire were extremely slow to get used to the cold courts and generate the sense of urgency required to compete properly in an Inter County Championships. Some players only just pulled their finger out in time, while others did not start the matches as they should or somehow seemed to lose their way against players they should have despatched off the court far more quickly. Even without Alastair Roberts, who unfortunately was not able to play, there is more potential in this team than was shown on the day and we need to realize this to do ourselves justice in the second half.
