HANTS LADIES 040 1st Team In our 1st round matches we faced Berkshire and Worcestershire. Our morning match against Berkshire started well with a fine win by Debbie Sands. However Berkshire were not keen to let us get away with an easy win on their home territory and put up stiff resistance despite strong performances by Ali Trott and Bev Brockway. Although we were denied any further wins, the 1-4 scoreline did not reflect the high quality of all the matches. In the afternoon we met Worcestershire who had a formidable line-up including 2 England players. Debbie, Ali and Lynne Foster all clinched good wins, Lynne having shrugged of a cold that had held her back in the morning match. Bev and Sarah Giles were overcome by stronger opponents despite some determined rallies. Player of the match Ali Trott for digging deep and special mention to Bev for making us all laugh!
