Third time lucky it was not for the O50 team at Edgbaston Priory. Hampshire beat Cambridge in the semi-final for a place in the final. Having come fourth in 2002 and runners up in 2003, the team again produced a great performance to narrowly lose to a very strong Cheshire side. And so they are Runners Up for 2006. Medals were presented by the Chairman of England Squash – Jacky Robinson.

Hampshire Senior Womens Team were also playing at Edgbaston. They lost to Lancashire in the semi-final but beat Ulster to come third overall. Lancashire beat Sussex to take the National Championship.

The whole weekend was admirably organised by Alison Henley of England Squash and as the men were also playing there was wonderful squash to be seen.
