ON-LINE LEAGUE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM GUIDANCE NOTES

The League Management System (LMS) for the Hampshire Squash leagues is accessed via this site using the purple menu items above.

General Layout of LMS
The League Management System controls four Hampshire leagues- Men's League, Women's League, Veterans League and Junior League. Each League within the System has its own independent management system. The first four items of the LMS constitute a "Public Area" where visitors to the site can click onto underlined items and drill down for more detailed information as follows:

League Tables
Visitors to the site can click onto a selected Team to view its Fixtures and Results with a further option to view the Fixtures and Results of the Team's Club by clicking on (Full Club Fixtures List). Alternatively, by clicking on any Division, it is possible to view the Fixtures and Results for that Division, again with a further option to view the whole League Fixtures and Results by clicking on (Full Club Fixtures List) . Individual Match Card Results can be viewed by clicking on the appropriate date of any of the Fixture Lists mentioned above, with the further option of clicking on a player involved in the match to get that player's match statistics.

Player Statistics
By clicking on this option, player statistics for a particular club are available in summary form. Alternatively, by selecting (ALL), a complete County list summary is available in County Ranking order. Again, by clicking on a particular player, a list of matches and results for that player is available.

Club Page
Selecting this option and then a Club, provides a view of that Club's registered players, in ranked order. It also shows how many matches each player has been involved in at the time of viewing.

Overdue Results List Although it is required that match results will be posted on line within 24 Hours after a match has been completed, there may be occasions when unfortunately this does not happen. If therefore a match result is not posted on-line within five days of the fixture date, it will automatically appear on this list and such missing results can be monitored by clicking on the Overdue Results List. If, after a further nine days the result is still missing, it will be transferred to a special area under the sole control of the League Secretary wherein matches involving actual or potential infringements are held and are waiting for the L.S. to deal with.

Enter Administrator's Area
This option is for individual clubs to access the Administrator's Area: To maintain a Ranking List, Club Details and Enter Results. Security to this area is provided by entering a unique club password, one for each League the club is involved in, Men's, Women's, Veterans leagues and Juniors

  • To gain access click on (Enter Administrators Area)
  • This will lead to the Administrator's Entry Page; click on (Continue)
  • This leads to the Administrator Home Page - select your club from the drop-down box, type in the appropriate password and click on (ENTER).
  • Having arrived at the Club Management Page with your selected Club name in the title, there is a choice of three on-line actions:

Click on (Enter or maintain club details)

  • This will show details of your club, which can be edited
  • All these details will now be visible from the "Public Area".

Click on (Maintain Ranking Lists)

  • Use this section to Add Names to the Ranking List
  • NOTE: Entry of the first Christian name and the Surname is obligatory. Initials always help in the event of same or similar names, both in your Club and in the League generally.
  • Use the Rank Before feature and/or the Add at End facility in the drop down box to position the player's name. (When entering a new list for the first time, it is advisable to work down from No. 1 and use Add at End after each entry).
  • Use the middle section to enter Player Details including DOB, England Squash number and gender
  • Once a ranking list has been established, the lower section of the screen can be used to re-rank players. The drop down box in this section provides for players to be Moved to End, or to be Removed from Rankings.
  • NOTE: There is no specific option to DELETE a player but instead the Removed from Rankings action should be used when a player is no longer available. This allows the player record to be maintained/archived pending a possible return to play for the club, or to play for another club in the County. When a player is placed in this category, the ranking number is removed and in its place there is just a dash (-). The name remains on the club password protected ranking list but it will not appear on the "Public Area" Club Page.
  • The first Ranking List of the season must be completed before the first Club match of the season.

The above Ranking List (for a particular Club) will be frozen at midnight prior to the date of that Club's First League Match and the details transferred to the Club Page in the "Public Area". This means that no further changes can be made to the Club Ranking List until the next Ranking Period. However, the original list remains on the Club Password Protected screen and can be used as the basis for any additions or changes up to midnight prior to the first day of the next nomination period. And, so on.

When carrying out a rearrangement of the Ranking List, it is advisable to first add any new players and delete (Remove from Rankings) departed players, before starting any re-ranking of the remaining names.

Click on (Enter Match Results)

  • From the drop down list of Home Fixtures, select the match concerned and click (Select)
  • From the drop down lists of Players, insert both the Home and Away team players.
  • (If, an unranked player's name appears on the match card - and this name will not be found in the drop down box - insert the name in the special Unranked Player Box at the bottom of the screen). ***
  • (If, the match card shows that one or more players have not turned up, or defaulted in some other way, use the NO SHOW option at the bottom of the drop down box - instead of a name - for each of these players. Correspondingly, use the WALKOVER option in lieu of each opponent's name and insert the 9-0 9-0 9-0 or 0-9 0-9 0-9 scores accordingly) .
  • Enter the scores for each string in the format shown on the screen.
  • Check carefully to ensure all the input information is correct.
  • If there is any comment about the match, which you wish to convey to the League Secretary, then enter the details in the Box provided.
  • When you are satisfied that the Match Result Entry is complete, click on (Submit) and the result totals will be calculated by the System. Check these are correct.
  • When you are satisfied that the calculations agree with the match card figures, Tick the small Box and then click on (Submit) to finally confirm the Match Result. The League Table will then be updated accordingly.
*** Important: If any Unranked Players take part in a match, the Team Captains must ensure the names of these Unranked Players appear on the match card with a suitable annotation of U/R in the ranking box.
